• This book is awesome. I haven't come across a written version of a mockumentary before, but it worked really well! The characters were all so well formed that I couldn't believe they weren't real people! I especially loved Austen / Peter. Diane Michaels should try working in TV, because I would love to see this as a real show. Highly recommend.
• I ADORED this book! So witty, funny, and clever. I was hooked from page 1 and definitely didn't want the story to end. The only problem is now I want to watch the fictitious TV show now so I can fall in love with the characters on the small screen, just as I did in print. Brava, Diane Michaels! More stories like this, please!

• This version is annotated by Richard Beeman, a genuine, non-ideological constitutional scholar. It is NOT the right wing/Skousen/LDS version described in many of the critical comments. For some reason, has applied the same set of comments to multiple versions of the Constitution, which makes it virtually impossible to determine which ones are worth buying - and reading.
  
  This version is well worth buying and reading, and reading again. In addition to the text of the original documents, it offers excellent historical context including a discussion of how the various articles and amendments have been interpreted by courts (not ideologues) through the years. It's a very valuable resource.
  
  UPDATE In a comment to this review, RedRocks explains that if you try to order the paperback version of this Penguin guide, you'll actually get the Skousen/LDS version instead. (My brother confirmed this.) orders get the correct Penguin version. needs to correct this - RedRocks has complained about it before but has done nothing.
• This reprint of the US Constitution is very well edited and annotated. The full original text is reproduced as written. There are no editorial comments or discussions. Original text that has been amended is enclosed in brackets, with a footnote to reference the amendment. The preamble to the Bill of Rights and the full text of all 27 amendments are included. The full text of the Declaration of Independence is included. The dimensions (3.25" x 6.5") make this a true "pocket guide". I recommend buying multiple copies of this pamphlet to give to family and friends, as I have done. Every American should be intimately familiar with these documents.
  Apparently, lumps together the reviews written for various print versions of the US Constitution. All print versions are not equal and many of the reviews do not apply to the print version I reviewed. The print version I reviewed has a painting of George Washington, quill pen in hand, on the front cover. It is copyrighted by the National Center for Constitutional Studies. Accept no substitutes.

• Having just quickly perused all 44 pages of this USA e-book, just want to point out that this version of The United States Constitution is not annotated. It does have an excellent live index, very useful.
• has the unfortunate practice of lumping reviews for several different editions together. The kindle edition I got did not have the "disclaimer" that several people objected to (I'm a liberal, but that would have annoyed me too.) It just started out with the table of contents and the the familiar Preamble.
• Every American should own (and Read) this book. It was written for Us! Very highly recommend.
• Large font easy to read. No Skousen nut case seditionist commentary. Just as it was written by the founders.

• This is JT Lawrence’s candid memoir dealing with her infertility journey. Ovary is written as a journal and you take every detailed step with Lawrence. This is one that will not be for everyone as she is very direct with her feelings that involve foul language which are raw, gritty, and also at times funny. Through her writing, Lawrence made me feel like I personally know her as I went down this difficult and frustrating path she went through to try to become a Mommy. I had no idea there were so many letters in the alphabet and acronyms for infertility...
  
  This made me understand more of what some of my friends have gone through in their journeys to become parents. You definitely feel the wide range of emotions Lawrence goes through and you are pulling for her to get her wish of becoming a mommy despite all the hurdles that continually pop up.
  
  I had previously purchased the kindle edition, but I was also sent the audible version from the author to listen to. It is narrated by Jennifer Swanepoel who did a brilliant job. She put all the frankness and emotion that Lawrence wrote into her narration.
  
  Infertility is a difficult issue and if you are going to write about it, then this is a way to do it. Please note that this is not a faith based journey. For those who have not experienced infertility READ THIS BOOK! You will actually learn about infertility and gain some insight as you read.
  
  Ovary should also make you think twice before you ask a couple if they are going to have children it is no one else’s business other than the couple. You never know what they are going through whether it is infertility or other issues.
  
  Bravo JT Lawrence on a memoir that we all need to read.
  
  The Underachieving Ovary is highly recommended.
• WOW, while reading this one, I learned so much, and I have to say, every woman, especially Janita, who has gone through this has become my hero.
  
  This is an alarmingly frank and incredibly funny memoir of JT Lawrence as they go through the process of trying to get pregnant.
  
  It had me in stitches and gasping for air, laughing at how frank she was about some of the things that she was going through, while at other times I was grabbing for tissues and chocolates, to help heal my breaking heart.
  
  She has a way of pulling you in, making you as invested in her getting pregnant as she was. I was rooting for them to succeed.
  
  This is definitely going at the top of my list for favourite reads this year.

  A rainy evening curled up on the couch, a hot cup of coffee (well actually 3 cups in total), and me sucked into the world of the underachieving ovary navigating the terminology and jargon which include, TTCers trying to establish texture of the CM!
  There's the "devil womb" and relationship anecdotes with the BFG and Crackers Counsellor... oh, and the fab Dr G!
  The "turkey baster" moments! The "stimming" procedure... and intermittent laughter ringing through the quiet house...rivalled only by the raindrops on the awning.
  Angry VJJs and the up-and-down emotions between BFN and BFP.
  "Punani grotto" OMG! ROTFL
  The endearment of "Breakfast Burrito" (there's also Stink Fruit/sproglet/ cantaloupe and sea monkey) as things fall into place...and finally the triumphant Tag Team!

It has big holes in the storyline and she has added one too many sets of cousins without a backup story. I have watched her grow and become a better storyteller. However, I believe some of her earlier work was written better and more enjoyable.

• The artwork carries the story well. Although expressive, it can be a bit cartoony at times. It's not the reason you're here.
  
  I'm not a Jodorowsky scholar, but some themes seem to recur in his collaborations, notably an oppressive theocracy (or something like), rebels of some kind, and a touch of magic. Moonface combines these nicely, especially in the title character. Mute (except sometimes, sort of), he blithely flouts convention, authority, and laws of physics. Not that he seems to care, this puts him in opposition to two different sects. Both sects seem to divide the world along all-too-familiar lines what they control, and their enemies. Unable to understand how they could be irrelevant to him and unable to control him, he must be an opponent. He seems almost equally inattentive to his followers. Drawn in by his charisma and miracles, The Powers That Be can only understand them as an army of opposition, raising the tension and the stakes.
  
  As always, Humanoids's production values are among the best. If there's enough room on your shelves, this could earn a place. Shelf space has become a critical resource for me - I'll keep it for now, but triage might change my mind.

• Spy Hook is the book that serendipitously introduced me to Len Deighton's Bernard Samson on a cool, Southern California evening with little to do. Little did I know that Deighton is a master, that Bernard would become one of my favorite characters, regardless of medium, and that I would devour the other books in the three trilogies of the life and trials of Bernard Samson.
  
  Since discovering this author, book, series only a year and a half ago, I have read the series three times and each time been completely drawn into the delightfully dark world that Deighton has created for perhaps the most under-celebrated hero of all time.
• Let me preface this by stating that Deighton is a brilliant spy story novelist. That being said, I consider this book a kind of background reference, and interesting to us who have been hooked to read the series up to this point. There is one thing missing for the most part, and that one thing is Bernard Samson.
  Samson, in the previous books has been the central character. He is the MAIN THRUST this series has been built on. He is, of course, mentioned throughout this book, but his absence as an active character, to me, makes this a reference piece.
• Bernard Samson is a spy working for the British Secret Service in 1987, but his duties are largely bureaucratic in nature. He travels frequently to Berlin because he is assigned to the "German desk", but that allows him to stay in touch with his close friends there. Samson's life has gone topsy-turvy since his wife, Fiona, defected to the KGB, three years or more ago, but he is convinced that Fiona did not defect, rather, that she is being used by the Secret Service as a mole. The higher ups in his office will not confirm his suspicions and they are furious with him for pursuing his own investigation into the truth behind Fiona's supposed defection. Those four sentences are the basic outline of the four previous Samson novels that have led up to Spy Line (Berlin Game, Mexico Set, London Match, and Spy Hook).
  In Spy Line, Bernard continues to pursue the truth about Fiona, until the truth behind her defection is made clear. He travels to Berlin again and is told to cross into East Berlin and bring Fiona back to the West, but her retrieval and return become a nightmare as the Secret Service again imposes its will on Samson and Fiona in order to manipulate the truth behind Fiona's rescue. It's difficult to imagine reading this book without having first read the first four books detailed above. Samson is an unusual spy, a stubborn, but highly intelligent man. By the time you greet him again in Spy Line, you will feel as if you know him better than he knows himself, and as the book comes to a close with Bernard and Fiona in virtual imprisonment, you will understand exactly how frustrated and angry he feels.
  Len Deighton is a wonderful author. You will love this book.
• This is the 6th book in a 9-book series set during the cold war and featuring the adventures (and misadventures) of Bernard Samson, whose wife Fiona early on defects to the Russians. Bernard is never aware of the whole story -- the first five books and the last two are all written in first person, from Bernard's point of view. Spy Sinker allows a broader view, and fills in the reader on the full story. Not that living in Samson's head is any hardship. His acerbic take on everything from the British Secret Service to his colleagues and their wives enlivens every page. Of one straying wife, he remarks. "Her faithfulness would never be a subject for lyric poetry. Limericks, perhaps." These books are all wonderful. Start with Berlin Game and read straight through.
• I have loved all of Mr Deighton’s books but this one is different. It seems to be everything he tries to avoid in his writing. The only character who comes out of it with any integrity is Bernard. The rest appear shallow, selfish, self indulgent. It looks as though it was written to a timeline rather than a plan. Enjoy the rest of the series and forgive this error of judgement.
• Spy line continued the story of Bernard Sampson. Deighton wrote all his trilogies so that they may be read separate, although there is a continuous storyline. I wish he had not done so, we get a continuing redundancy of detail about each character and setting. The dilemmas you anticipate from the previous books does in fact occur and there is much less twist to the plot than in Game, Set, Match. I am left mangled in a difficult dilemma in the plot that does not get any attention before the book closes, and I assume that it will be taken up in his next trilogy. If these books were supposedly meant to be read in any order there should have been a resolution of any central dilemma. If you have already read the other books, then I recommend you read this one and keep going. That must have been his point in not solving the dilemma, but don't tell me they can be read separately.

• Le Carre and Deighton are in a class of their own when it comes to the cold war era of spies. This Deighton novel follows up the first series of London Game, Mexico Set and Berlin Match and is the first book is the sequel series of another three books. Well crafted and featuring familiar characters, Deighton captures the reality of the spy fighting the British government secret service with its infighting, jealousies and politics typical of a large bureaucratic organization.

• Maybe it's because the camera distances one, or maybe simply because he's photographed so many people, but Scott is very self-aware. He is comfortable explaining WHY he chooses certain things. Of course the photos are interesting, sometimes beautiful, but to get to why something has value is an amazing (and relatively rare) thing. Personally, I would be interested in a book with more insight (aka more writing, of course still with images). Many people think that fashion is flighty and impermanent. This book however demonstrates that, regardless of your position, fashion can be a direct conduit to the mind and soul of the individual, and a wonderful conversation between the individual and the world.
• I returned this book because it wasn't as inspiring as I expected. I thought it would be like looking at the blog, but featuring the most interesting people. I lost interest after flipping through it a couple times and was really wanting a book I could return to again and again for inspiration (like Design Sponge, but for fashion; I could flip through that book 100 times). For me, I think there were too many men shown and I was really only interested in women's fashion.
• Ok. Let me confess. I'm a huuuge fan of the blog. This book is a presentation of the best pictures culled from Scot Schuman's blog, The Sartorialist. It is a visual and stylish delight. Absolutely wonderful to flip through. The photographs are stunning studies of individual style and quite a colorful inspiration. See all those boots and carmel brown shoes in the photos? Now look around, and you'll see them everywhere in everytown. I think Scot S made a strong impact on fashion, by stylishly chronicling it.
• Just received The Sartorialist book and although it was a bit
  on the smaller side, (I forgot to check for dimensions) I am super
  pleased. The content is amazing- Love all the images.
  The quality of the book/pages/print is excellent.
  
  In 2005, The Sartorialist author (and photographer) Scott Schuman, began a photography blog covering the "Fashion Forward" and Fashion Week on the East and West coast of No America and Europe. He is very stylish himself! and has a great eye for spotting a Fashionista on the street! His blog has been a hit ever since. I am personally addicted.
  
  Again, job well done, Scott Schuman!

  I looked through the book. I expected -- I dunno -- a written chronicle of current fashion. The book really is an album of candid fashion snaps from fashion capitals.
  
  The eye of the photographer for the weird, the glam and the frankly fabulous is spot on.
  
  This book will inspire you to think of fashion in a new way, as you see how people invent their way of dress every day. Very highly recommended. It proves a picture really is worth a thousand words.

• The man, the man, the man, that's all i can say he is the one that does it all and captures it all in a way that presents beauty in all of its amazing forms while never leaving out the most important elements of his subjects. The use of the natural elements as well as feeding off the subjects energy creates an undeniable correlation between fashion,art,style,and, the human connection. The simple truth is that we are all more alike than different and seeing that in the most beautifully curated and wonderfully captured shots since Bill Cunningham and the Times Style section as well as his other publishing work with big name publications.

I purchased this book hoping to learn more about the x86 and 68000 CPU families and programming for those architectures. This book gives plenty of necessary background information regarding the internal workings of these CPU's, while being well-written and easy to follow. The chapters are ordered in a logical fashion, firstly introducing the reader to the high level, software programming, aspect of the architecture, and then in later chapters providing very detailed information regarding the physical structure and workings of the CPU. This allows readers to easily read through the topic of their interest without being overwhelmed by other information. Although I have not read entirely through the book, I find it to be a valuable source of reference. This book provides thorough descriptions of the CPU's instructions, internal registers, memory interfacing and other important CPU-specific information. It also gives many examples, and regular exercises, for each topic covered which helps the reader to memorize what they had just read. The charts are also very clear and make the explanations a lot easier to understand. Protected mode for 80386 is clearly covered and well-explained with easy to understand diagrams and memory exercises. I recommend this book to all people with a keen interest in CPU architectures. Beginners, like myself, could try other assembly language guides, many of which are available through the internet, as this book, despite being well-written, may be a bit too much for a primer in assembly language for a beginner. But no matter at what stage you are, this book will always be a great reference guide."
