For fans of The Office and 30 Rock
Can the queen of amnesia and a stand-up comedian turn a failed soap opera into a hit TV show?
Kendra Lewis-Frost, a daytime drama writer, unintentionally came up with the idea for a sitcom about veterinarians.
Austen Hughes, a comedian, is desperate to land a steady gig, even on a daytime drama.
Madeline Puri, a late addition to the cast, may be the answer to everyone’s dreams. Well, almost everyone’s dreams.
The stars and creators of the fictional TV sitcom Pet Peeves take you on a behind-the-scenes tour of the egos, the backstabbing, and the secret crushes never meant to make it on air. Their points of view have been stitched together into a collective oral history that tells the story of Pet Peeves from its creation through the series finale in this mockumentary-styled novel.

"This was a cute and different book to read. It is about a show (a made up show). All set members are interviewed throughout the book. You not only get to know about them as people, but also about the show. I'm now hoping the writer will bring out a book, or maybe a screenplay, so we can read the show for real.
*I read an advance copy of this book, in exchange for a honest review.* And I honestly loved this book."

Pet Peeves An Oral History eBook Diane Michaels Reviews
- This book is awesome. I haven't come across a written version of a mockumentary before, but it worked really well! The characters were all so well formed that I couldn't believe they weren't real people! I especially loved Austen / Peter. Diane Michaels should try working in TV, because I would love to see this as a real show. Highly recommend.
- I ADORED this book! So witty, funny, and clever. I was hooked from page 1 and definitely didn't want the story to end. The only problem is now I want to watch the fictitious TV show now so I can fall in love with the characters on the small screen, just as I did in print. Brava, Diane Michaels! More stories like this, please!
- This book was an easy, fun read. I was caught up in the characters and could envision myself watching this 'series'. I really enjoyed getting to know the characters and recommend this book.
- If you’re looking for a fun, light read with plenty of tongue-in-cheek humor, this is for you. Some of the characters’ personalities are hilariously stereotypical, while one particular character pulls all the threads together. Enjoy!
